JOB DESCRIPTION
 
As a Systems/Cloud Integration Architect working on a large federal enterprise integration program within a fast-paced environment, your expertise and experience will be relied upon to lead and support the design and optimization of complex AWS and Azure Cloud architecture, solutions, and cloud-based applications, architecting robust redundant infrastructure, implementing container-based systems, securing Cloud environments, and interfacing with government customers to provide high-impact software solutions. You will be expected to use Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and Azure services such as Active Directory B2C and Key Vault; to collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype new technologies; develop solutions for system integration; and contribute significantly to future architectural vision creation and planning. You will help drive innovation through the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies, providing thought leadership in Cloud architecture, and mentoring junior team members. QUALIFICATIONS
 
 
  • Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
OR
  • Three (3) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Certification(s)
  • Required:
    • AWS or Azure Certified Solutions Architect.
    • PLUS one or more of the following:
      • AWS Certified Solutions Architect,
      • Azure Solutions Architect Expert,
      • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional,
      • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert,
      • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA),
      • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD),
      • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Experience
    Minimum 12 years of experience providing systems development and integration in positions of increasing responsibility and skill requirement and relevant to the requirements for this opportunity.

  • Deep Expertise and Proficiency in/with:
    • Architecting, designing and instantiating Infrastructure.
    • Deep knowledge of how to design secure, robust, scalable, redundant, fault tolerant Cloud-based VMs and complex systems.
    • Designing and securing optimized RDBMS infrastructure & Services.
    • Securing Cloud environments from internal as well as external threats.
    • Deep working knowledge of AWS & Azure security services and resources.
    • Auto Scaling, Scale Groups.
    • Architecting High Availably Thru Geographic Redundancy & Optimized Scaling.
    • Expertise using the following AWS and Azure tools:
    • IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrails, AWS X-Ray, Data Dog.
    • ARM, Azure Monitor, Azure Application Insights.

    • Building strong working relationships with government clients, government program/project managers and their contractor development teams, and the client’s customers (e.g., end users).
    • Ability to translate and convey highly technical concepts, challenges, requirements, and recommendations into less technical and more easily understood language.
    • Professionally crafting and delivering suggestions and recommendations for high-impact technical solutions to key stakeholders and clients.
    • Creating system and/or technology roadmaps that outline the long-term vision and goals for a system or technology platform.
    • Adept at deconstructing, optimizing, and redesigning existing solutions using state of the art tools and technologies.
    • Documenting new architecture applying best practices, such as using clear and consistent documentation standards, ensuring comprehensive enterprise architecture coverage, ensuring alignment with business objectives, incorporating modularity and reusability, requiring (and enforcing) version control and change management, including concept visualization (diagrams, charts, models, etc.), and using architecture document tools (Jira, Visio, draw.IO, etc.).
  • Additional Preferred Knowledge Of and Experience With:
    • Cloud-based services & technologies, to implement container-based solutions.
    • Container management services such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, AKS & EKS and Kubernetes Clusters.
    • Knowledge of what Containers are and how to create and instantiate Container-based solutions. 
    • Splunk and/or New Relic, and how to review and analyze the feedback, logs and output provided by these tools.
    • Ansible, what it does, and how it is used to secure system configurations and make configurations repeatable.
    • Enterprise-based architectural design expertise including the ability to both document and explain solution architecture to subordinates and managers.
    • Windows and Linux operation systems RHEL is a plus.
