Audio Video Examiner - Mid Level

                                      Current CI Polygraph preferred but not mandatory

WORK SITE:                 Bethesda, MD

WORK SHIFT:               Second Shift: 1400 to 2230
COVID-19 and Social-Distancing requirements have made shift-work necessary.  Cleaning crews thoroughly disinfect work areas before & after each shift.  Regular work schedules shall resume once the COVID-19 National Emergency is lifted. Pay differential may apply.

JOB DESCRIPTION:      Seeking a mission-driven Audio-Visual Examiner to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, in an often fast-paced environment with high visibility, supporting efforts to keep our nation safe.   Job duties include:
  • Examination and analysis of a large volume of multimedia files.
  • Metadata exploitation to expose file processing and distribution workflows.
  • Image, video, audio and authentication.
  • Image and video enhancement
  • Digitization of analog media.
  • Compression and conversion of video and audio files.

Must Have
  • Minimum of 2-years relevant experience in AV exploitation & analysis.
  • Proven history successfully working under minimal supervision while meeting work quality and due date requirements.
  • Keen attention to detail, awareness, and observation skills.
  • Proficiency with multimedia production tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, AVID Media Composer, and Apple Final Cut Studio.
  • Foundational knowledge of digital media and/or cyber forensic exploitation processes and forensic methodologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in file specifications and formats for still image, video, and audio files; and file format conversion processes.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in technical report writing to include editing and peer reviewing.
  • Familiarity of IC reporting and databases.
  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have:
  • Capable camera operator or experience creating video and extracting/creating still images.
  • Experienced with the IC's all-source analysis and report writing.
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with and communicating with individuals and audiences of varying expertise, rank, and affiliation.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Interested in continued audio visual media technologies professional development.
  • Fluent in any foreign language.

  • Bachelors in a relevant discipline;
    • Or:  One (1) additional year of relevant experience if Bachelors is not in a relevant discipline;
    • Or:  Five (5) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelors.

  • No certification is required.
  • Nice to Have:  Industry or IC-recognized certification in any digital media exploitation and/or forensics discipline such as Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA).
