Acquisition Specialist, Mid

Fort Belvoir, VA
Key Role:

Assist government procurement agencies with defining proposals, including RFPs and qualifying vendors. Apply knowledge of the defense acquisition process to support clients in the analysis and improvement of acquisition process policy and procedures. Devise innovative strategies for deploying and implementing new acquisition policy initiatives and measuring the effectiveness of implementation. Use quantitative analytical techniques to assess system acquisition process issues and develop risk reduction or mitigation approaches for improving acquisition or program planning, control, and execution.
Basic Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience in a professional work environment
-3+ years of experience with acquisition processes and programs
-1+ years of experience with project or financial management
-Experience with the complete Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
-Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and DoD 5000 series regulations and laws, executive orders, statutes, policies, principles of acquisition planning, and other requirements necessary to accomplish assigned duties
-Experience working on contract requirements development and source selection
-Ability to be a self-starter and prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision
-Ability to work independently and as an integrated member of a project team
-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or Life Science
Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with working on CWMD non-proliferation issues
-Experience with preparing briefings and reports appropriate for senior government executives
-Experience with providing workforce development and acquisition-related training to US government personnel, including program management, acquisition planning, risk analysis, requirements generation, contracting processes, and contract management
-Experience in assisting project teams with developing acquisition documentation per client acquisition policy
-Ability to navigate the inner working of foreign diplomacy successfully with a professional demeanor
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level I or Level II in Contracts or Program Management, or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
SECRET clearance is required.
